TOM ELLIS [Veteran WABC TV NYC, WBZ TV Boston, MA & KONO-860/KONO TV news anchor] (Boston-Cape Cod-East Sandwich, MA) Hi, Jim and Suzie, First helicopter this old reporter ever sees is a little Bell with LBJ in it flying in a circle over the square in Carthage (TX) with a bull horn shouting for us to come to a cow pasture right outside town to hear him speak. This is right after WWII. Sure nuff…everybody starts running toward the cow pasture where the chopper lands and LBJ gets out and speaks for a few minutes then takes off again. That was quite a show for a little deep East Texas podunk town. Tom

TRIVIA ANSWER: On Friday, October 13, 2006 the Friday the 13th Storm strikes Buffalo, New York. In the unusual early-season snow storm, also known as the Arborgeddon Storm, Columbus Day Massacre and the Octoblizzard, an estimated 400,000 people are without power on Friday the 13th.
JOANIE GREEN-GALLO [Longtime Houston, TX DJ/traffic reporter] (Tulsa, OK) I have a new printer (old one died) and it was time to change out the starter toner cartridges. I went to the machine and then got stymied. I didn’t want to hurt the printer by not changing the cartridges properly and what was worse, I couldn’t even get to the cartridges to replace the ink! So, I ended up going back to Staples for some help. When a staff member asked if he could help me, I told him yes, that I had my Doofus Hat on and that got several laughs from staff members. The gentleman led me to the printers and even HE NEEDED A MINUTE to figure out what to do to replace the cartridges properly on the Epson printer I had just gotten from them (sigh). I suddenly didn’t feel quite as stupid as I did when I went into the place! And yes, when I got home, the printer cartridges got changed!
PATRICK HRUBY (ESPN writer and journalist) Doofusdom does not discriminate on the basis of gender!
