BEN HAROLD [KXOL-1360, KENR-1170] (Knoxville, TN) Hi Jim, last year, at this time, I was well on my way to the big studio in the sky. From mid-October to January 11th, as most of you know, I was hospitalized. Following surgery for stage 4 colon cancer on 3/30/15, an additional 6 weeks of more chemo, my last scan (a month ago) showed I am cancer-free, which is, indeed, a miracle. I want to thank those for keeping me in your prayers. This holiday season, I want readers to know that YOU ALL are in MY prayers. Too many of us “old-timers” are no longer around to recall the “good old days” of radio. I’m thankful that Jim Rose is still here, keeping us in touch. Happy Thanksgiving to all of my radio friends. Ben Harold

Tony sent me a private message not long ago that was basically a goodbye note. So I knew it wouldn’t be long. 72 on the 16th? Happy Birthday a few days early. Blessings to you. Peace, David

Didn’t know about your birthday until Bruce H. mentioned it so a belated stay happy wish. I’m wrapping up my 56th year of doing high school football in Texas so I figure you were born about the time I began doing Dallas football in 1960. (Ed note: In 1960 I’m a sophomore in high school) I will always thank Bill Crowdus of WFAA radio for bringing me to Texas to cover high school football when no one else in Big D was involved. Stay healthy. Gary DeLaune (www.garydnews.com)
