MIKE KELLAM [former KHFI/NBC/WMAQ-670] (Estes Park, CO) Hi, Jim! It’s a small world! I guess that Mike (Kellams) came to Chicago after I left. My grandmother used to tell me that we may be the last of the Kellam’s. Now, with the Internet, I have googled “Michael Kellam” and came up with a whole bunch, all over the country. Thanks for this tidbit. I check out JRRR as often as the e-mails come. Keep up the GREAT work. Best to you & Susie. Mike Kellam (the REAL one!)

IRA [Eye] LIPSON [ex PD of AOR KZEW FM The Zoo] (Dallas, TX) Subject: The station is out of sight. Jim, Sorry to report that North Texas Radio For The Blind is closing down. Although there are 180 functioning radio stations for the blind in the United States, management was unable to raise enough money to keep local broadcasting going in the 5th market. I’ll miss doing weekly shows with the talented Don Sundeen, and I know the area’s sight-impaired listeners will miss the station. Very sad. Ira Lipson
