CHARLIE VAN DYKE [ex KLIF-1190, WLS-890] (Paradise Valley, AZ) Ingrid (a doctor) says pancreatic cancer is one of the worst. How long probably depends on Johnny (Borders). I’ve seen people linger and a good friend passed overnight when placed with hospice. It also depends on whether they are going to continue any kind of treatments or move to palliative care. Sad times. Prayers activated for peaceful transition and peace for the family.

JOHN BUTLER [ex KLIF-1190] (Dallas, TX) Subject: Jim Rose Remembers Radio April 01, 2016 [Friday] Issue #1499. I just watched part of a special on Terrell and the WWII era on the local PBS, CH 13 in Dallas. It was a very notable time for Terrell and their support of the Army recruits training at the local camp. If you haven’t seen it, you should with your connection to Terrell. And you or Suzie must have made a typo in your email. “… the number 73 rolls around” for you. I just got out of high school, so I assume you did too. Thanks for looking at the KWJB website. We are in the process of redoing it. I’ll let you know when we finish it. – John

DR. JEFF CUNNINGHAM [ex KXOL-1360] (Austin-Kyle, TX) Subject: Jim Rose Remembers Radio April 08, 2016 [Friday] Issue #1501. Well, every time I open your site I see that noHeart has done it again, now being matched closely by Cumulus. These people have done more to destroy culture than anything any politician could ever do. I am a governmental conservative and all that, but we may well have overdone this “free market” approach to media because there are very few mom-and-pop operations left. Tell me I’m wrong here, but it seems that the only markets that will survive this stupidity are the small to medium towns up to 100K in population, where there are no internet competitions to speak of and the people still count on the local radio station for news and weather. noHeart cannot fail fast enough for me, personally. That is the coldest group of people in the history of media and that is saying a LOT, as you know. Hope you are doing well, my friend. Jeff Cunningham, DC

TRIVIA ANSWER: On April 5 1948, Tom Pepperday, owner and publisher of the Journal, signs on KOB TV as the first TV station between the Mississippi River and the West Coast.
CHUCK DUNAWAY [ex KLIF-1190, WABC-770, WKY-930, KILT-610] (Houston-Katy, TX) Subject: one of the best reasons for supporting the billionaire candidate. Rocker Ted Nugent is never shy about making his political opinions known, and a message he posted about Donald Trump on Tuesday is going viral. In the Facebook post, Nugent contends one of the best reasons for supporting the billionaire candidate is the list of those who oppose him, including President Obama, the media, the establishment of both major political parties, the UN, China, Black Lives Matter and the Pope.
GEORGE BURNS (January 20, 1896 – March 09, 1996) Too bad that all the people who know how to run the country are busy driving taxicabs and cutting hair.
