NYC RADIO TV HOST SAYS GOOD DAY FOR FINAL TIME Award-winning reporter and editor for The Daily News, Dick Oliver, is familiar to New York television audiences as a longtime correspondent on local morning show Good Day New York on WNYW TV Fox CH 5. At 8:45 am on September 11, 2001 Dick shoots a live segment for Good Day New York near City Hall when a plane strikes the World Trade Center. Dick Oliver passes away at 77 in a hospice care facility in Manhattan from complications of a stroke in September.

MR. FIXIT’S TIME RUNS OUT Paul MacGregor born September 28, 1941 on a farm in Haleyville, AL begins his radio career in broadcasting as a disc jockey on WLAY-1450 in Muscle Shoals. Paul moves on up to television and radio news as anchor and reporter in several markets that includes WOR-710 in New York City. MacGregor’s long-running Mr. Fix-It radio show airs in the Denver, CO market and syndicates to more than 75 radio stations around the country. Paul MacGregor dies in his sleep on November 4, 2016 in Denver, CO.
HUBBARD ISSUES MERRY CHRISTMAS BOOTS Hubbard Radio Chicago, IL is in a race with iHeartMedia (formerly Clear Channel) in year-end mass layoffs to cut staff costs. At 1:00pm Monday, November 28, 2016 Hubbard Radio Chicago’s newly-hired Vice President and Market Manager, Jeff England, announces the forced departure of some employees: Assistant Program Director Paul Webber, Production Director John Siuntres, promotions assistant Ryan Williams and Digital Media Graphic Designer Bianca Cordova.
DELILAH ADDS AMERICAN FORCES NETWORK The most-listened-to woman on radio, Premiere Networks Delilah, actively expands her show to include the American Forces Network (AFN). Effective immediately, Delilah now airs weeknights at 7pm in Japan, Korea and Central Europe on AFN Radio’s Today’s Best Hits AC channel. Her show is now available to 400,000 American servicemen and women in 175 countries and 200 U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Navy’s Military Sealift Command ships at sea.

I see her (Duckie) most every day as she stops by about 5:30PM Mon-Fri to let me know how her day went in the hotel business. I know she misses radio which has changed so much over the years. Speaking of our other dear friends in radio….Bruce Hathaway has been in and out of hospital for months now as the doctors removed a part of his ankle and bone there…just did a skin graft and hoping this will work. In the meantime he is in skilled care at Chandler Estate. 1502 Howard St. Room 209, SAT 78212 210-737-5223 where he is now. he will be at the skilled care for another 2 weeks.
